Spotlight on the Arts 2021

Excerpts from “Stairs, Chairs & Squares” a new work created virtually entirely on Zoom and performed by a selected group of dance majors in fall 2020 at the Performing and Visual Arts Complex quad outside the Georgia Museum of Art. Created by NYC choreographer Ellen Cornfield, this project was a collaboration between the Georgia Museum of Art, UGA’s Department of Dance and Cornfield Dance Company, and was performed in conjunction with the GMOA exhibition, “The Art of Seating: 200 Years of American Design.”

The senior dance majors at UGA were very busy this year choreographing their 2020-21 Senior Exit works as dance films, using creative means and collaborating with talented students from Entertainment and Media Studies. This video contains highlights of their works:

Spotlight on the Arts 2020

Presented by the UGA Arts Council, the 2020 Spotlight on the Arts festival will feature dozens of events and exhibitions in the visual, literary and performing arts. This year's festival, scheduled for November 4-20 will include both virtual and in-person performances and exhibitions that maintain social distancing. Planning is currently underway, and listing of events and more information is available on the Spotlight on the Arts festival page.

UGA Dance presents an exciting interactive program for children for PAC's Saturday Morning Club.  The event is free and open to children of all ages!
